The Episcopal Church at NYU is both a student run club at NYU (the Canterbury Club) and a ministry of the Diocese of New York. Canterbury NYU was begun in fall 2002 by alumni Taylor Long ('06) president and Elizabeth Kahn ('06) treasurer and from those beginings in a basement at Grace Church the group has grown to hosting regular public worship services, free meals for students, educational events, study classes and much more.

We are a student directed church open and welcoming to all in the wider community. Our mission is to nurture an Episcopal community of seekers and believers at NYU and surrounding campuses. We envision a community of hospitality, dialogue, personal engagement, and prayer where students can nurture their spiritual lives and engage questions of the Christian faith with their hearts, and minds.

The best way to help shape this church and community student group is to get involved and help form it with your ideas and participation. To that end there is a google groups board that you can share ideas and comments as well as find out about jobs, mission trips and any other info that might not appear on this site.
